Father Finger – S/T CS
NNF262
Providence, Rad Islander Kylie Lance aka Father Finger synthesizes synth-voice-sequencer-drum-machinery into twisted yet elegant curvatures of glassy digital-mystic pop, of which the four frameworks found on her self-titled cassette stand as some of her most gleaming achievements to date. “Temper” and “Separation Anxiety” pulse and prowl under an ozone of vocals, keys, samples, FX; lyrics about cardboard boxes and man’s frustration evoke an inner world of ruined cities and unfulfilled desires. The B side skews more baroque: “Fauna” and “Italy” bubble and scrape through 96 tiers of liquid arpeggiations, neu-wave melody, and colorful arcs of psychic voice. Currently on tour coast-to-coast with Maria Minerva. Pro-dubbed grey tapes in full-color double-sided J-cards with sex-shop Dollywood cover illustration by Christine Jones.
