That said, Courtesy Run Rampant is the perfect Not Not Fun-eral for one of our favorite post-noise avante-cultural disintegrators. Three bizarrely orchestrated manifestoes of bashed upright piano, harsh drum distortion, and clarinet lament, often complimented with Herr Loopool’s Leonard Cohen-like dead poeticizing. Recorded during a day-in-the-studio birthday present at The Distillery in Costa Mesa on thick reel-to-reel tape, and full of purpose.
